  • Saw the "The Avengers" last night...

...and I have more questions than answers. 1. Who was the guy shown during the end credits? 2. Why wasn't Gwyneth in the movie more? The flick really needed some more women. 3. Was it filmed in 3D or converted after the fact? We saw it in 3D and it didn't particularly strike me as impressive in that way; I actually was more impressed with the 3D conversion of Titanic. I thought it was good movie, a fun popcorn flick, but not the second coming that some people seem to believe.

  • I keep hearing of so many young people dying of cancer.

It used to be you'd hear about the occasional child with leukemia and then maybe some 60+ year olds. It was very rare to hear about 20-40 year olds who were suffering from it. So rare that you'd read it in the newspapers. Now I know 17 people (closely) that have been diagnosed at very young ages with cancer, including my own brother. My nextdoor neighbor is a nearly retired hospice nurse and she swears it is from cellphones. Do you sense an uptick in cancer case numbers in the fairly young?

  • Will this mean the end of DataLounge?

Apparently there is a bill before the New York legislature that would ban anonymous speech online on message boards, blogs, etc. If this bill were to pass, would it mean that Datalounge would go belly-up? Or would we all just have to authenticate?

  • Dominion Wackiness Post of the Week: The Wedding of Regina Seppi and That Guy with the Lump on His Head

Before you tell me I'm being too mean, remember that they met through their mutual membership in the John Birch Society, okay? Anyway, his name's Greg, and the lump is still there. Regina's dress is a lacy Eighties throwback, but I've got to admit that I kind of like it on her; she looks far better than I've ever seen her. Everyone else just looks sweaty. It must have been hotter than you-know-what.

  • Star Trek 2: Benedict Cumberbatch and Zach Quinto

The first set photos have arrived for Star Trek 2, thanks to MTV. J.J. Abrams is currently filming the sequel, whose plot details are being kept under wraps. The images show Benedict Cumberbatch battling Spock (Zachary Quinto) on what is being called a "Space Barge set." Despite the strength of Spock's Vulcan death grip, Cumberbatch looks to be overpowering him. We don't know much about Cumberbatch's character, but it is clear that they are not getting along. What is odd is that he is wearing a black version of the Star Fleet uniform under his silver overcoat. Could this mean that Cumberbatch's character was one of the good guys before he became a villain?

  • I'm confused about Facebook stock.

Why isn't it up to $50 a share by now? It's currently at $34.03.

  • TV absurdities that have become commonplace

Anytime someone is driving a car and makes a sharp turn, the tires squeal, even if they're not going at high speeds. Anytime someone pulls away from the curb quickly, the tires squeal, even if the tires are not spinning in place. Every you're in the Great Outdoors, you'll hear the scream of a Red-tailed Hawk (always the same stock sound effect), even if one is watching a Bald Eagle or some other bird. Sometimes no bird at all is needed. And of course we all know the Wilhelm scream. What other TV conventions can we think of?

  • Is "On the Road" going to be gay at all?

The original manuscript of the novel was very explicit about Jack Kerouac's and Neal Cassady's gay experiences, and (in particular) Cassady's prostitution. I hope they keep the gay in the movie version and don't make it too much about Garrett Hedlund's love for Kristen "Sullen" Stewart... bleeeargh.

  • Jury deliberates for a 5th day in John Edwards' trial

GREENSBORO, North Carolina Thu May 24, 2012 (Reuters) - A fifth day of jury deliberations got under way on Thursday in former U.S. Senator John Edwards' campaign finance case, which legal experts have said could expand the definition of what qualifies as campaign contributions. Jurors have nearly four weeks of testimony to consider as they determine whether Edwards, 58, conspired to use more than $900,000 from two supporters to conceal his pregnant mistress as he chased the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. Prosecutors said Edwards sought to protect his political image, but the defense argued the donor payments were personal gifts intended to keep his cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, from learning he had fathered a child with then-mistress Rielle Hunter. The 12 jurors must reach a unanimous verdict to convict the Democrats' 2004 vice presidential nominee of charges including conspiring to solicit the money, receiving more than the $2,300 allowed from any one donor, and failing to report the payments as contributions. Edwards faces possible prison time and fines if he is found guilty.

  • Guys Who Won't Get Fucked

Have you ever met one? I did. He told me it hurt. Well, he was huge and it hurt me too. Anyway, he let me fuck him and he said, yeah, he didn't like it. It hurts too much. I felt the same way. Since then, we're both tops. People say I'm a control freak. But I just don't like the way it feels. Only time I ever enjoyed it was on poppers. And that was a long time ago.

  • Weird news story about racists being attacked by anti-racists...

Something seems strange about it to me. The "anti-racists" for one thing, look like typical white power guys. One even looks like Hitler. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but what if this was some elaborate scheme to make racists seem like victims? Like, what if the 2 groups were all secretly members of the same larger group...?

Any of you gotten it? It looks like the results are either meh or miraculous. They always look at least a little bit better though. Apparently Jennifer Anniston is obsessed with them. How much do they cost? How do you find a good doctor and are there good websites about this stuff? Also, what was the pain like and will they give you pain pills to help?
