  • Laser tattoo removal becoming more popular

Laser surgeons quoted by The Patient’s Guide cited employment and career advancement as the leading reason people are seeking to have tattoos removed. In fact, employment reasons were noted as the motivation by 40% of people seeking to have tattoos removed, that’s up from 25% in a study conducted in 2011. Patients scheduling tattoo removal claim that the body markings are preventing them from obtaining desired jobs, or retarding their career progress with current employers.

  • Bain & Financial Industry Gave Over $565,000 To Newark Mayor Cory Booker For 2002 Campaign

Yesterday, Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker (D) attacked the Obama campaign for making an issue of Mitt Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital during an appearance on Meet the Press. While the progressive leader later backed off the criticisms, Republicans have been quick to highlight his comments as an attack against the idea that scrutiny of Mitt Romney’s record as a businessman is fair game. A ThinkProgress examination of New Jersey campaign finance records for Booker’s first run for Mayor — back in 2002 — suggests a possible reason for his unease with attacks on Bain Capital and venture capital. They were among his earliest and most generous backers. Contributions to his 2002 campaign from venture capitalists, investors, and big Wall Street bankers brought him more than $115,000 for his 2002 campaign. Among those contributing to his campaign were John Connaughton ($2,000), Steve Pagliuca ($2,200), Jonathan Lavine ($1,000) — all of Bain Capital. While the forms are not totally clear, it appears the campaign raised less than $800,000 total, making this a significant percentage. He and his slate also jointly raised funds for the “Booker Team for Newark” joint committee. They received more than $450,000 for the 2002 campaign from the sector — including a pair of $15,400 contributions from Bain Capital Managing Directors Joshua Bekenstein and Mark Nunnelly. It appears that for the initial campaign and runoff, the slate raised less than $4 million — again making this a sizable chunk. In all — just in his first Mayoral run — Booker’s committees received more than $565,000 from the people he was defending. At least $36,000 of that came from folks at Romney’s old firm.

  • Berkeley police chief sends 10 cops to search for son's lost iPhone

And it was worth it! Even the overtime paid to four detectives. The State of California would like some reimbursement, please. Berkeley's police chief, criticized for sending officers -- some on overtime -- to Oakland to look for his son's stolen iPhone, has defended his actions, saying he thought the search was "worth it." Chief Michael Meehan made headlines this week after the San Francisco Chronicle reported he sent regular officers and those from a drug task force to look for the phone, which was taken from a Berkeley High School locker room Jan. 11. The phone's tracking software led police to a North Oakland intersection, but the phone wasn't found. The Chronicle said many officers had been "grumbling" about the search, which involved as many as 10 officers and included Meehan himself. Sgt. Mary Kusmiss, a police spokeswoman, said four detectives were paid overtime for the incident. Meehan -- who drew criticism and a legal investigation after sending Kusmiss to a reporter's home to ask for changes to a story in March -- defended his actions in an interview with the Oakland Tribune, saying he felt the case of the missing iPhone was handled appropriately. Meehan did not provide the Tribune with statistics on police staffing and responses during the hours when his son's phone was taken, but said in two other cases of stolen iPhones, 11 officers responded. "I think it was worth it," he said, when asked about the cost of the search for his son's phone. But the response wasn't specific to his son, Meehan told the newspaper, saying Berkeley residents should expect the same police work based on the resources available at the time. Meehan said the incident drew media attention because "it's the chief's son, so it's different." "But I don't understand why it has been cast this way," he said. "The facts are very straightforward." When asked if he felt his job was secure after the second controversy in recent months, Meehan said it was a "great question for the city manager."

Why did they cast Kristen Davis? She is easily the weakest link in the show. The other three actresses are excellent, and she really seems out of her depth. She is pretty and preppy, yes, but watching her was sometimes painful.

  • The best and most committed pr0n performers

On the thread about how you'd make your own porn film, several people listed how they wanted to have actors who were more committed and better sexual performers (more into it) more than anything else. I wonder who people think are the best at this--not necessarily the best looking or the most attractive, but the most into their scenes. Two never-fail guys for me are Adam Killian and Matt Cole. They are almost always hard, and they always seem like they're deeply into their partners when they perform and are 100% committed. Killian, in particular, amazes me--he seems to get completely that every second he's on camera he's got to be putting on the best show possible. He knows how to show off his body to his best advantage all the time, and he also knows how to focus entirely on his scene partner.

  • Hepatitis C

I have gone out on a couple of dates with a guy. We haven't had sex yet and last night when we left the bar he told me that he has Hep C, which he is not sure how he got--most likely from a homemade tattoo a friend gave him when he was younger. He claims that Hep C is very hard to transmit sexually. I did some research and it says that if you are in a monogamous relationship, you don't even need to use condoms. Is this true? I mean, I will anyway, but is it really hard to transmit Hep C through sex?
