Anytime someone is driving a car and makes a sharp turn, the tires squeal, even if they're not going at high speeds. Anytime someone pulls away from the curb quickly, the tires squeal, even if the tires are not spinning in place. Every you're in the Great Outdoors, you'll hear the scream of a Red-tailed Hawk (always the same stock sound effect), even if one is watching a Bald Eagle or some other bird. Sometimes no bird at all is needed. And of course we all know the Wilhelm scream. What other TV conventions can we think of?
"...and a small grrreen salad with no dressing." Is there any part in any movie ever as much fun as the Princess Dragomiroff?

The original manuscript of the novel was very explicit about Jack Kerouac's and Neal Cassady's gay experiences, and (in particular) Cassady's prostitution. I hope they keep the gay in the movie version and don't make it too much about Garrett Hedlund's love for Kristen "Sullen" Stewart... bleeeargh.
It's not fleet week again, is it? It's like when the Blue Angels show up in October.
Police in Dubuque, Iowa, responded to an unusual call this week: reports of a zebra and a parrot in the front seat of a truck parked outside a bar. The striped animal and his fine feathered friend were there to keep their owner company, but weren’t allowed in the bar. Jerald Reiter, 55, told police the zebra and maccaw parrot enjoy going for rides in his truck, so he brought them to the bar, which he says usually allows animals inside, ABC affiliate KCRG-TV reports. When the motley crew got to the bar, they were told because food was being served, the animals wouldn’t be allowed inside. Bar owners told KCRG no animals are ever allowed inside. When officers arrived on the scene, they stopped Reiter in the parking as he was driving his truck away. Field sobriety tests found he had a blood alcohol level of .14, nearly twice the legal limit, according to police. His girlfriend, Vickie Teters, told KCRB the animals are like their children, and do everything with them. “They love going for rides. They’re just a part of the family,” Teters said. “They were not left alone in the car, not even a second.” Reiter also disputes the drunk driving charge, saying he realized he was too drunk to drive, and was about to let a passenger take the wheel when he was arrested.
GREENSBORO, North Carolina Thu May 24, 2012 (Reuters) - A fifth day of jury deliberations got under way on Thursday in former U.S. Senator John Edwards' campaign finance case, which legal experts have said could expand the definition of what qualifies as campaign contributions. Jurors have nearly four weeks of testimony to consider as they determine whether Edwards, 58, conspired to use more than $900,000 from two supporters to conceal his pregnant mistress as he chased the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. Prosecutors said Edwards sought to protect his political image, but the defense argued the donor payments were personal gifts intended to keep his cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, from learning he had fathered a child with then-mistress Rielle Hunter. The 12 jurors must reach a unanimous verdict to convict the Democrats' 2004 vice presidential nominee of charges including conspiring to solicit the money, receiving more than the $2,300 allowed from any one donor, and failing to report the payments as contributions. Edwards faces possible prison time and fines if he is found guilty.
I think he's hot. I'm a little excited, too, that Scissor Sisters has a new CD coming out next week. That is all.

Is Shaunie O'Neal involved with Baseball Wives, the Basketball Wives spinoff? What do we think of Shaunie, anyway?
Have you ever met one? I did. He told me it hurt. Well, he was huge and it hurt me too. Anyway, he let me fuck him and he said, yeah, he didn't like it. It hurts too much. I felt the same way. Since then, we're both tops. People say I'm a control freak. But I just don't like the way it feels. Only time I ever enjoyed it was on poppers. And that was a long time ago.
Laser surgeons quoted by The Patient’s Guide cited employment and career advancement as the leading reason people are seeking to have tattoos removed. In fact, employment reasons were noted as the motivation by 40% of people seeking to have tattoos removed, that’s up from 25% in a study conducted in 2011. Patients scheduling tattoo removal claim that the body markings are preventing them from obtaining desired jobs, or retarding their career progress with current employers.

Something seems strange about it to me. The "anti-racists" for one thing, look like typical white power guys. One even looks like Hitler. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but what if this was some elaborate scheme to make racists seem like victims? Like, what if the 2 groups were all secretly members of the same larger group...?

Critics say the underwriting banks set the price of the offering too high and sold too many shares to the public. But an IPO that wobbles in its debut isn’t necessarily a bad sign, as many new public companies -- such as Amazon.com -- have started out poorly and gone on to be top performers.
Any of you gotten it? It looks like the results are either meh or miraculous. They always look at least a little bit better though. Apparently Jennifer Anniston is obsessed with them. How much do they cost? How do you find a good doctor and are there good websites about this stuff? Also, what was the pain like and will they give you pain pills to help?
Does this not sound familiar?
My eyes are itchy and I am having sneezing jags and congestion. Blech! And I have not had much of a history of allergies before...

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Monkeys seem cute and harmless, but one family is seriously concerned for their daughter's health after what they call a monkey attack. They're also frustrated at how the incident was handled. As 8-year-old Tayce Nickel and her family were going to get back-to-school hair cuts, they got an unexpected surprise. "As we got out, Tayce, being 8 years old, wanted to see the monkey, so she got out, looked up at the monkey, said, 'Hi,' and he gave the animal just enough slack to where it could jump out, grab her by her hair, and bite her on the forehead," said Mike Weeks. The macaque monkey, named Charlie, was in an vehicle in a Wal-Mart parking lot in south Springfield. "My husband was sitting in the car with Charlie. He was on the leash, down in the car as always," said Vicki Pulley, the monkey's owner. Tayce's parents believe she was bitten. Charlie's owner says it was a scratch. "I'm sure he felt threatened when she came into his territory inside the car, and it scared him and he grabbed her hair," Pulley said. Tayce's parents called Springfield Animal Control, which made a report and sent the monkey home. When Weeks learned more about macaque monkeys, he became even more frustrated. "They're known to carry tuberculosis, hepatitus B, herpes, and this animal is just allowed to go home," said Weeks. Tayce's parents wish that monkey would have been taken away from the owners in the Wal-Mart parking lot, but officials say they have the option, according to city ordinance, to either confiscate the animal or allow it to be quarantined at home, which they did in this case. They also said Animal Control, part of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, doesn't have a good place to keep a monkey. "Then, of course, when we get into the possible things the animal could be carrying, then your focus shifts dramatically to concern," said Weeks. Animal Control found no previous veterinarian records for the monkey, which was taken to a vet to test for about 10 different diseases. Tayce went to the doctor and is taking antibiotics and antivirals. "Everybody says, 'Put her on antivirals and pray.' That's basically the situation we've been left in," Weeks said. Herpes B is one of the diseases for which the monkey is being tested. It's a big concern, because it's present in 80 to 90 percent of macaques, and can be fatal in humans. The monkey's owners will be fined for having the animal in Springfield, because it's prohibited by city ordinance. If the monkey is infected with any disease, local authorities say they would contact the state about what to do next. Test results should be back a week from now.

Though renewed, Smash is to receive a reduction in its license fee. In addition to a reduced budget. So four actors had to be let go to free up some room in the budget. Raza Jaffrey, Jaime Cepero, Brian d'Arcy James and Will Chase will not return for the second season of the musical series. Money has been made available to add a new gay character (from Brooklyn) on the show to be a sounding board to Karen's character now that she is single.
On the thread about how you'd make your own porn film, several people listed how they wanted to have actors who were more committed and better sexual performers (more into it) more than anything else. I wonder who people think are the best at this--not necessarily the best looking or the most attractive, but the most into their scenes. Two never-fail guys for me are Adam Killian and Matt Cole. They are almost always hard, and they always seem like they're deeply into their partners when they perform and are 100% committed. Killian, in particular, amazes me--he seems to get completely that every second he's on camera he's got to be putting on the best show possible. He knows how to show off his body to his best advantage all the time, and he also knows how to focus entirely on his scene partner.

I''m going to go with Mike from You Bet Your Garden. I detect Philly, but more than that he seems to speak forced perky. \ \ Other than that, he really seems to know his stuff and I like him but something about his voice grates on me big time.\ \ And I''m from Philly (suburbs), but I don''t sound like that.
Should she have just gone the Britney/Xtina route and shook her ass onstage? Do you think she regrets taking the goody-girl route now?
